Founded in August 2008, Maat-Sophia is a fully Warranted Temple of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn under Chic and Tabatha Cicero.

The Chief of the Temple, V.H. Frater C.L., had a long standing dream to bring the Golden Dawn to Long Island stemming back to the early 1990’s. After many fruitless searches (and a fair number of synchronicities) he found the Cicero’s Order and was accepted in 2001. After six years of training within the Order, along with fourteen years of solo practice as a Ceremonial Magician, V.H. Frater C.L. was granted a full Warrant to work all Grades of the Outer Order of the Golden Dawn through the Grade of Portal in July 2008.

August 9th, 2008 was the first meeting of the Hermetic Golden Dawn on Long Island. With a full initiating team, V.H. Frater C.L. intiated five new Neophytes that day. The Temple has been in full operation ever since and continues to grow!

The Adepts of the Temple have over fifty years of combined experience in teaching the Hermetic Arts and welcome all sincere seekers of the Light.
